In response to our client’s need to transport oversized cargo that exceeded the standard height due to its dimensions, we undertook the task of packing and securing it in a 40′ High Cube container. This container, with its increased height, is the ideal solution for goods of non-standard size, providing the extra space needed for safe transport.
To protect this cargo, we used VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) foil, which provides a reliable solution in corrosion protection. VCI foils contain chemicals that sublimate, creating an active protective atmosphere around the protected object. It acts directly on the surface of the metal, neutralising potential corrosive agents such as moisture, salt or dirt. As a result, cargo protected in this way can be transported for long periods without the risk of corrosion damage.
Given that the goods, due to their size, could not be placed on a standard platform, our task was to develop a special lashing system that would guarantee the stability and safety of the cargo during sea transport. This system had to not only immobilise the cargo effectively, but also distribute the weight evenly.
Using IPPC-labelled angles and certified straps and point restraints, we were able to achieve stable and secure positioning of the cargo in the container. The goods thus secured arrived safely at their destination.
