What is multimodal transport?

Multimodal transport is a transport method that uses two or more different modes of transport on a single route. It is an efficient logistical solution that makes optimal use of different forms of transport, such as road, rail, sea transport or air transport, so that goods can reach their destination in the most efficient and cost-effective way. In our case, transport was by road and ferry, which enabled the furnace structure to be delivered to the Faroe Islands.

Packing and transport process for the furnace construction

Our task was to prepare the furnace construction and its accessories for shipment by multimodal transport. Due to the nature of the transport and the variety of shapes and sizes of the components, we had to plan every step of the packing process in detail.

The first step was to build special platforms and structures that accommodated and lifted some of the furnace components. Such solutions ensured stability and safety during transport, protecting the delicate and heavy elements from damage.

Due to the variety of shapes and sizes of the different parts of the furnace, we had to think carefully about the order and method of packing to optimise space and ensure efficient use of the available space. Each component was secured to prevent it from moving during transport, which could lead to damage.

Our experience in carrying out complex packing projects and the use of specialised logistics solutions ensure that every load we transport arrives at its destination intact. If you need professional packaging and transport services, we look forward to working with you.

We received the photos from our customer, who sent them with thanks and information that everything arrived safely at its destination.
