Plywood is a structural panel that is made from thin layers of wood glued together. Most often, birch, alder or pine is used. The individual layers (usually an odd number of layers) are joined together with a special glue. The type of glue makes the plywood dry or waterproof. It should be remembered, however, that water resistance applies only to the glue and not to the entire board.
Plywood is characterised by its strength in terms of weight, better bending and compression resistance than other wood-based materials, lightweight and low thermal transmittance. Renewable materials can be used in its manufacture (as is the case with OSB transport boxes).
We manufacture plywood boxes using frame box construction technology. It is sheathed in appropriately sized and nailed plywood. The upper wall of the box can be protected with a tarpaulin or foil, which prevents the box from getting wet. The item inside is suitably protected against shifting inside the box. In addition, at the customer’s request, the plywood boxes can be fitted with sensors for tilt, humidity, temperature and shock registration. This allows the customer to accurately monitor the condition of the item being transported.
Importantly, every transport package including plywood boxes is labelled accordingly. This makes it easier to load and unload them and makes the transport companies aware of how to handle the boxes in question.
