As part of this project, we were tasked with preparing a sizable engine for road transport for one of our clients.
The first step in the process was to carefully immobilise the engine to ensure its stability and protection during transport. We decided to pack it in transparent foil. This type of packaging allows easy identification of the contents and provides protection against dust and minor mechanical damage.
The engine was then placed in a purpose-built openwork box for additional protection. This box was designed to allow the unit to be visible from the outside. Thanks to the openwork construction, in the event of a customs inspection, the engine can be easily identified without having to unpack and destroy the packaging. This is a key advantage, especially for international shipments where customs checks may be frequent.
The use of transparent foil and an openwork box not only provides protection from damage, but also significantly facilitates customs processes. The transparent foil protects against dust and minor impurities, while at the same time allowing the contents to be quickly inspected. The openwork box ensures that the engine is well protected mechanically and at the same time visible to customs, minimising the risk of delays and damage to the packaging during inspection.
