Prior to the realisation of the wooden packaging, we need to establish some important data for the project, including: the time, route and method of planned transport and the type of goods to be packaged.

What do we need to know about goods packed in wooden packaging?

  • What type of goods are we to prepare for transport: is it electronics, a turbine, an engine, a car or something else?
  • What means of transport are to be used: car, ship or plane?
  • What type of transport is planned: conventional or containerised, and if containerised is it FCL (full container of your goods) or LCL (your goods together with the goods of other shippers in one container)?
  • If using an aircraft for transport, we additionally need to know the guidelines of the chosen airline in terms of the packaging and delivery methods they accept and the type of aircraft chosen for transport.
  • What is the planned route for the wooden package, including waiting and storage points and planned handling methods?
  • What is the expected time from packing to unpacking of the package, and thus for how long are the anti-corrosion measures expected to protect the cargo?
  • What are the exact dimensions, weight and location of the centre of gravity of the load?
  • Are there any moving parts of the equipment to be packed in the wooden packaging?
  • Does the goods to be shipped require cleaning prior to packaging from, for example, production residues, operating fluids or others?
  • Are there any special requirements for the protection of your goods, e.g. instructions for securing the device issued by the manufacturer?
  • Was the device pre-protected and, if so, should this protection be removed before another is applied?
  • Should the consignment be equipped with moisture, shock, tilt indicators?
  • Determine the hygroscopic properties, i.e. to what extent goods packed in wooden packaging absorb moisture from the air or to what extent they can cause moisture in the air.Opakowania transportowe drewniane

Once we have established the relevant data, we will advise you on the method of packaging in wooden packaging and jointly establish methods of corrosion protection.
